I have travelled across Finland for both studies and work, always giving my full dedication to whatever I set my mind to. In 2022, by pure chance, I arrived in the small village of Kairala. Something about the atmosphere, the quiet beauty of the old houses, and the spirit of the place spoke to me immediately. I felt a sense of belonging I hadn’t experienced anywhere else — and I knew I wanted to stay.

 

That same determination that has guided me throughout my life helped me make the decision to become an entrepreneur. Starting a business from scratch is never easy, especially in a remote village, but I believe in this place and in the future I can build here. My hope is to create a livelihood for myself and, one day, to offer work to others as well.

 

In spring 2024, I founded Kairala Resort Oy and Café Vuopio. My dream is to develop them into a welcoming, inn‑like village hub — a place where travellers and locals can meet, enjoy good food, experience Lapland´s warmth, and feel at home.
